Being a big fan of Halloween, and all the excessories that come with, I'll tell you that there is nothing better to get you into-the-mood like Halloween Music. Now, this CD isn't what I would whip out for getting myself into the Halloween spirit, because there are several CDs better than this one, however, I will tell you that for 5 bucks this CD is fantastic, and in a way most Halloween CDs can't provide.
The first two songs, as well as tracks 8 and 10, are very dance-based. In other words, along to go with the eerie sound effects and organs and such, theres a hot drum beat. And, with me being a big fan of dance music, I really enjoyed that. It's something that would be flawless for pre-party halloween music.
All in all, for 5 bucks (or however cheap this CD is) you will not find a better halloween collection for less. And, just so you know, even though theres only 10 songs, all of them clock in at around 6 minutes, so your still getting plenty of music.
Now, if your looking for some REALLY scary, and pretty background mood-getting music, I would get any of the albums by Midnight Syndicate, with them you can for sure expect to get some music that catches both the macabre of halloween, and is perfect for background music, and won't disrupt any talking that would be going on. Another good idea I use a lot is getting film scores from scary movies, for instance, the score to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) is extremely scary.
