What kind of fabric should I use for my Halloween outfit?
I want to make it myself this year, and I want it to look good. Someone told me I could buy fabric templates from a craft store. I am going to be Link, from the Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess.

Whatever you decide on, make sure it is flame retardant; some fabrics are highly flammable, avoid those.

go with a green cotton or linen.
might be able to find the costume pattern at a craft store but don't count 100% on it to be specificaly for zelda.
might need to look for a ladies blouse that is simular and make adjustments.
