Special Effects Contact Lens

Special effects contact lens can take your Halloween costume to the next level. While just about anyone can buy a costume at the local Halloween costume shop to wear to a Halloween party or to go trick-or-treating. In the same way, just about anyone can buy a make up kit and look even more like a realistic vampire, werewolf or just about anything else that requires a little disguising. Few people, however, consider the statement that can be made with a completely different set of eyes.

People all over are using colored contacts in their everyday life, not only for corrective vision purposes, but to add a little splash of color in otherwise dull or normal eyes. So why not use that to help with a Halloween costume to make your outfit a little bit more believable or outrageous?

Halloween contact lenses can be found not only in costume stores, but online as well. Consider simply changing from your normal eye color — which everyone sees every time they see you in person — to something more vibrant. Or, for those who want to be a bit more subtle go from your natural eye color to something also natural that can be found on someone else.

Contact lenses that simply change the color of your eyes are found in a very diverse grouping. Not only can a brown-eyed girl turn into a green-eyed girl, but people can wear contacts that turn the whites of their eyes black, or even look like the eyes of the main character from the Chronicles of Riddick. It is also possible to find contacts with glittery patterns to really add to a futuristic costume.

For those who favor the bizarre, there are a plethora of odd styles to choose from. Choose alien-styled eyes, or even cat eyes with the almond-shaped pupil situated vertically. Consider other animal-themed eyes with zebra print contact lenses, wolf-eyed lenses, reptile eyes, even iguana eyes.

Anyone who has decided to dress up as an intense football fanatic can find contact lenses with the names and logos of a large variety of football teams, such as the New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Kansas City Chiefs.

For anyone dressing up as a particularly psychotic character can wear hypnotic lenses with a black and white swirl pattern. Red and white swirls are also available, as are severely bloodshot eyes and an assortment of contact lenses with fire patterns.

Consider contact lenses with objects instead of just designs, such as hearts, flags, or even lenses with a crossed-out pattern found on the eyeballs of cartoons who have been recently knocked out.

The one downside to these amazing Halloween costume contact lenses is that they do not always get along with the eyes of sensitive people. Make sure before wearing them for an entire night on Halloween that you test them to make sure your eyes can handle them, even if you do not consider yourself to have sensitive eyes. After using them casually for a while prior to Halloween, make sure to clean them well with a contact-cleaning solution and avoid touching the lenses with dirty hands, or really, avoid touching them directly, regardless of how clean your hands are.

If you are someone who wears prescription glasses and has never worn contacts of any sort before, make sure to bring your glasses just in case the contacts don’t sit well, even if they were fine for the test run you did prior to going to that Halloween party. Sure, resorting to glasses isn’t always the best looking thing one may want to do, but having red, dry eyes or even some sort of infection is even less attractive, not to mention significantly more painful.

With the proper research to find the best Halloween contact lenses, you can turn even the more generic of Halloween costumes into something unique and wonderful. Who knows…you may even start a trend and find more people wearing bizarre and interesting contact lenses at next year’s Halloween party.
