50's costume?

I just found out I have to wear a costume to my daughter’s school halloween party. She’s already going as a 50’s gal, I was going to try to match her. I have jeans, do I roll them up, is that what they did in the 50’s, and if so how high? I thought only guys wore them that way.

do you wear a scarf around your neck and your hair? Any ideas would be appreciated. I already went all out on my daughter’s costume, I don’t have much left for myself. I wish I had the body to go as Betty Page
